Hi all,
While not all content is live until the pilot (now underway) is complete, you can find the website here: A new open-access platform for greening research | SPARKHub
A few resources which I think will be of particular use and are new:
- On the procurement page, you’ll find downloadable pre-written specifications. We’ll add more in time, but these are aimed to align how we purchase, and save you time on tender exercises.
- Training on digital activities - There’s a training module on emissions and action associated with digital research Training and Guidance - SPARKHub (there’s also a link to the Cambridge one which is longer)
- A “Sustainable Laboratory Plastics Handbook” on the same page, which has a really practical guide on consumables use and actions in laboratories
- Calculators which Isobel developed on plastics, chemicals, and equipment (though data doesn’t yet save, it will)
There’s now content for pilot participants on dry labs, green-disc, mechanical engineering (from Friday), clinical labs, wet labs, 3 types of workshops, animal facilities, fly labs, and a load more which we’re adding to, which will include laser labs.
Finally, we’re going to organise an organisational framework which we’ll discuss at the EAUC plenary, which can give practical solutions to support Concordat signatures.
More coming, but have a look. Oh and a few more nice case studies are live from UCL, Loughborough, and EMBL, but please add more!
Best, Martin
