Hi all,
I would appreciate any guidance on the expectations of partner institutions that have overlap with a Uni in regard to lab accreditation. A specific example is the Edinburgh Botanic Gardens, which often hosts/conducts research with researchers from the UoE. I would struggle to make the case that we would be able to accredit them under our sustainable lab awards (and we have different procurement, energy, waste, etc. policies), but I can see where the ask is coming from. Many thanks.
We have a similar arrangement in our BioHub here in Birmingham. Our BioHub is a shared laboratory and is designed to grow/support life science companies. Our BioHub team (UoB staff) implement Green Lab practices and hold an accreditation but we aren’t able to extend accreditation to our external lab users, instead we signpost them and promote engaging with a lab accreditation scheme themselves/directly. We use Green Impact (GILA) to accredit our labs, this scheme is open to all sectors.
